She is a qualified sports therapist and when carrying out her treatment can offer good advice on keep fit training, body maintenance, stretching and general well-being.
This is an excellent new facility that is brought into the workplace for the convenience of our members with minimal disruption to working or shift patterns. If necessary and subject to the exigencies of the service, staff are allowed time to attend these sessions in duty time.

Reflexology
Due to the success of the massage sessions we have introduced Reflexology for 2008. The treatment will be carried out by Caron Catterall MBRA. Caron is a fully qualified reflexologist having trained with the Bayly School of Reflexology and is a member of the British Reflexology Association. She is on the referral register of practitioners, published by the association which can be found on www.britreflex.co.uk.
Why Reflexology?
Reflexology is a natural and relaxing way to help stimulate and activate the body’s own healing mechanism. This treatment is applied to the feet and can be used to help maintain good health, prevent illness, encourage healing and offers a simple and effective way to bring relief to a wide range of conditions.
What is Reflexology?
The roots of reflexology are embedded way back in ancient history when pressure therapies were recognised as preventative and therapeutic medicine. However it wasn’t until 1913 that Dr William Fitzgerald introduced this therapy to the west as ‘zone therapy’. His studies showed reflex areas on the feet and hands were linked to other areas and organs within the same zone. Eunice Ingham further developed this zone therapy in the 1930’s into what is now the widely practised reflexology.
Reflexology is a complementary therapy, which helps us to cope on a physical, mental and emotional level.
Your Treatment
The client reclines in a comfortable chair and talcum powder is then applied to the bare feet, giving the practitioner a smooth surface to work on. Using the thumbs and fingers the therapist applies pressure to the feet (this does not tickle!). The application and the effect of the treatment is unique to each person. Any areas of the feet which appear tender (indicating an imbalance to the corresponding area of the body) will receive extra work. Following treatment a sense of well being and relaxation is usually felt.
