Confirmation by secretaries of 2005 sports section and other club accounts as audited The treasurer had already circulated to each sports section secretary a copy of their 2005 account. He asked that they check these final accounts for accuracy then sign and return them immediately after this meeting. These would then be sent on to the auditor as part of the audit process. 12. Final agreement of 2006 budget allocations submitted and scrutinised in December 2005 Budgets had been previously discussed and provisionally agreed at an earlier budgeting meeting held in December. These figures had been circulated to sports secretaries in January and also were circulated at the meeting today. There were some cuts made. Mr Brindle reiterated the fact that any cuts had been made with much thought and consideration. 13. Appointment of auditors and bankers Moore and Smalley and National Westminster Bank duly re-appointed. 14. Divisional ‘per capita levy’ The 2006 levy needed to be set. £1.50 was the levy imposed for 2005. It was agreed to impose a £1.50p levy for 2006. This was thought to be an appropriate amount considering the PSUK levy was now set at around £1.00 per police officer. 15. Club Internet Web-Site and In-Force Magazine The secretary asked that sports sections submit as much information and reports as possible including pictures. These would be uploaded on a regular basis. He reminded the meeting that the site could be viewed on the world wide web at www.policesport.co.uk. In addition, the secretary proposed that he was in the process of producing a Club magazine that would inevitably increase marketing of our activities and membership. 3000 copies of this magazine would be produced, circulated across the force at no cost to the Club. In fact, it was hoped that a small amount of ‘authority’ income would be generated on behalf of the Club. He hoped, if the magazine was successful then it would be produced twice a year. The secretary asked for suggestions for the ‘Title’. He thought ‘CTO’ was an appropriate name. Many members at the meeting did not agree as it was thought to be police jargon, not too relevant to support staff. To conclude, the secretary asked that the members present sent any other suggestions to him by email. 16. ‘Sports Personality of the Year’ Award The management committee had received two nominations for the 2005 award. These were of a high standard. However, the committee voted unanimously that DC Roy Sinclair of the Swimming Section was the worthy recipient of the 2005 award. A detailed report on his achievements dating back over the last 15 years had been submitted. Extracts were read out by the Chairman. The full report would be available on the Club web-site. The ‘Ormerod Trophy’ would be presented to him in the coming months at a formal presentation with the Chief Constable. 17. Any other business i. Volunteer Special Constables’ now able to play in Police Sport UK regional and national championships. ii. Query over payment for club logo embroidery on team kit. Payment would be met under ‘sectional’ budgets. ii. World Police and Fire Games to be held in Austrailia in 2007 - Treasurer confirmed the current funding criteria covered payment of entry fees for events entered. No other funding would be made available. iii. ‘Super-Cops’ competition to be held in May. Qualifications trials were being held later in the month. A reminder that the event was open to ALL members of the club including support staff. Meeting closed - 3.45pm
