Final agreement of 2007 budget allocations submitted and scrutinised in December 2006 Budgets had been previously discussed and provisionally agreed at an earlier budgeting meeting held in December. These figures had been circulated to sports secretaries in January and also were circulated at the meeting today. There were some cuts made. Mr Brindle reiterated the fact that any cuts had been made with much thought and consideration. 13. Appointment of auditors and bankers Moore and Smalley and National Westminster Bank duly re-appointed. 14. Divisional ‘per capita levy’ The 2007 levy needed to be set. £1.50 was the levy imposed for 2006. It was agreed to impose a £1.50p levy for 2007. This was thought to be an appropriate amount considering the PSUK levy was now set at around £1.00 per police officer. 15. Increase of lottery stake and prizes The management committee had decided to increase the lottery stake to 70p a chance. This would mean that one additional prize of £500 would be included. Club Internet Website – Security of data The secretary had already receive one request from a Club member to have his name deleted from the website for security reasons. Notwithstanding this, names of individuals competing in sport would be on view on the world wide web. The secretary fully respected the privacy of individuals and asked that if any other members had any objections to this then they could be deleted on request. 17. Club Internet Web-Site and In-Force Magazine The secretary asked that sports sections submit as much information and reports as possible including pictures. These would be uploaded on a regular basis. He reminded the meeting that the site could be viewed on the world wide web at www.policesport.co.uk. The recent publication of the new “Off-Duty” magazine had been successful. The secretary again urged sports section members and divisional secretaries to use this publication as an excellent platform to market our Club to its members as well as encourage new members to join. 18. ‘Sports Personality of the Year’ Award 2006 The management committee had received only one nomination for the 2006 award from PS Mark Pass. This was PC John Wiggans from the Athletics Section. The nomination was of a very high standard and the committee voted unanimously that PC Wiggans was the worthy recipient of the 2006 award. A detailed report on his achievements dating back over the last 15 years had been submitted. Extracts were read out by the Chairman. The full report would be available on the Club web-site. The ‘Ormerod Trophy’ would be presented to him in the coming months at a formal presentation with the Chief Constable. 17. Any other business No other business raised. Meeting closed - 3.35pm
