secretary. He asked that they check these final accounts for accuracy then
sign and return them immediately by hard copy. These would then be sent on
to the auditor as part of the audit process.
12. Final
agreement of 2008 budget allocations submitted and scrutinised in December
2007
Budgets had been
previously discussed and provisionally agreed at an earlier budgeting
meeting held in late November. These figures had been circulated to sports
secretaries in January and also were circulated at the meeting today.
There were some cuts
made.
13. Appointment of
auditors and bankers
Moore and Smalley and
National Westminster Bank duly re-appointed.
14. Divisional
‘per capita levy’
The 2008 levy needed
to be set. £1.50 was the levy imposed for 2007. The management committee had
provisionally agreed to increase this to £1.65p for 2008 in line with
inflation. It had also been suggested that the levy rise with inflation each
year to make the decision process easier. The meeting agreed unaminously to
set the levy at £1.65 and raise it at each AGM with the inflation rate.
15. Club Internet
Web-Site and In-Force Magazine
The secretary asked
that sports sections submit as much information and reports as possible
including pictures. These would be uploaded on a regular basis. He reminded
the meeting that the site could be viewed on the world-wide-web at
www.policesport.net
The recent
publication of the new “Off-Duty” magazine had been successful. The
secretary again urged sports section members and divisional secretaries to
use this publication as an excellent platform to market our Club to its
members as well as encourage new members to join.
16. ‘Sports
Personality of the Year’ Award 2007
The management
committee had received three nominations for the 2007 award. These were all
of a very high standard but the committee voted unanimously that DS Dave
Rimmer (Football Section) would be the worthy recipient of the 2007 award.
A detailed report on
his achievements dating back over a number of years had been submitted.
Extracts were read out by the Chairman. The full report would be available
on the Club web-site.
The ‘Ormerod Trophy’
would be presented to him in the coming months at a formal presentation with
the Chief Constable.
17. Any other
business
The Chairman
reiterated that the Club audit was there for everyone to read and copies
were available at the meeting. The treasurer suggested that perhaps an
electronic pdf copy of the audit could be made available on the intranet
(not www) to enable members to view if they wished. This was agreed.
