The 2010 event took place from the Lancaster & Morecambe Running Club, Saly Ayre Centre, Doris Henderson Way, Lancaster at 7.30pm on Wednesday 21 July 2010.

The race was organised by the Lancaster and Morecambe Athletic Club with the police event incorporated within the race. The course starts on the cycleway and finishes near to the running club.

Lancaster & Morecambe AC (LMAC) was well represented at its evening 10k race on Wednesday July 21^st.  This is the annual race which is also used as the Lancashire Police Championships. There is always a good atmosphere at this event which now finishes in the Clubhouse where a buffet awaits finishers.

There was a good turn-out of LMAC Club members and all benefited from dry and wind free conditions.  The Club provided both male and female winners in Kieran Rowlands (who also represented the Police) with a fast time of 34.03 and in Jayne Perry in 29^th position overall with a very good 43:06.

Amongst the strong performances for LMAC were Chris Breakell who is still coming back from injury and improving all the time, and whose very strong 36.03 gave him the 3^rd place prize and 1^st V45.  Also notable was young Luke Croasdale with a time of 37:38 and these two helped the LMAC to win the male team prize.

COLT (City of Lancaster Triathlon), another local club, were also well represented, with Val O’Donnell (1^st FV45) coming second lady in 44:07 followed by improving LMAC athlete Jane Bass in a very good 44:14 to give her third place.

LMAC also won the female team prize with Louise Goddard, 1^st FV40, and a time of 45.30 joining Jayne and Jane as a member of the winning squad.

Incorporated within the 10k race was the 21^st annual Lancashire Constabulary Athletic Club Inter-Divisional Championships. Over fifty police and police staff took part from all parts of the Lancashire Police area.

This year police were out in force from the Lancaster and Morecambe areas winning the men’s, women’s and veteran team prizes. Local officers PC Will Nelson, PC Caroline Bell, PC Nikki Kay, Ms Jools Ready, Mr Dave Wilkinson, PC Derek Snalam, PC Mick Brodrick, Mr Phil Corris and SC Steve Broadbent formed the Northern Police Division team.
