British Police Fell Race 2007

The event took place in Wednesday 16 May 2007 at Loggerheads, Mold, North Wales. Lancashire attended in force with a team of nine members some of who were attempting their debut fell running challenge.

Pennine Division's Chris Shaw and Ian Pudge did us proud being placed 8th and 9th overall. The course was a deceptively tough 10.5 miler over fairly rugged welsh terrain. The weather was overcast and wet at times adding to the overall challenge and making some navigation on the return leg fairly tricky.

PCSO's Andy Beckett and Martin Dandy gave good performances with veteran runners Phil Corris and Steve Broadbent putting in their usual stalwart effort.

Debut fell runners, Neil Edwards, Bill Murray and, Jade Leeson ran and navigated well for their first race and did not get lost, though some runners chose to descend to the finish the longer route down!

A hot meal was had in the Loggerheads pub and overall Lancashire Constabulary had a successful day and scored 5th team overall.
