British Police Badminton Championships
On Saturday 6 October 2007 the British Police badminton team played against England Under 19's at Luton with the following results:-

Mixed Doubles - Winners

(Played with a female officer from Derbyshire Constabulary)
Despite the Lancashire officers winning all their games, the British Police team narrowly lost 6 - 5 overall.

Police Sport UK Regional Championships
This year the Badminton Championships will be held at Ribby Hall Holiday Village, Wrea Green near Blackpool on 16 March 2007. It will run from 11am to 4pm. It is open to competitors from Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Cumbria and Isle of Man.
Winners of this event will then qualify to represent the North West Region in the National finals in April.
All members of the sports and social club are allowed to enter. If you are playing in any of the doubles events however you must enter with a partner from your own force area. Each competitor is limited to entering a maximum of three events. The New scoring system playing up to 1 will be used in all events.

Mixed super veteran doubles (Men over 45 Ladies over 40 on 01/01/07)
Entries will only be accepted on email to DC Paul Hope: paul.hope@lancashire.pnn.police.uk .
You will then receive an email confirming that your entry has been accepted. If you are unable to find a partner for a doubles event please put on the email that you would like a partner and I will try to sort this out for you.

The above event will take place at Ribby Hall Holiday Village, Wrea Green on Tuesday 22 February 2005. The event will start at 12 noon and will finish at 4pm.

You can now only enter a maximum of 3 events in the Nationals. You can enter more in the Regionals but you won’t be able qualify . There is also a ‘Super Vet’s’ Mixed men over 45 ladies over 40. Any one who wishes to enter but cannot find a partner can contact PC Hope to arrange.
The closing date is 18 February 2005 but this is flexible and I will accept entries via E-mail.
Those who qualify will represent the north-west forces in the National finals in Scotland later in the year.
