A windy cold day greeted the competitors for this annual event. This weather made the fishing difficult. Cheshire lads exacted revenge on last year’s winners which was us the Lancashire Constabulary team. They did it by one point or put another way, by one fish.

The next competition is an emergency services event at Cudmore, Staffs on 2 July 2009. Lancashire has entered 2 teams for this event. If anyone is interested in taking part in this event or future events please contact Insp Fearn or Ian Bateson (contact details on this site).

Lancashire Constabulary coarse fishing section team has earned a national reputation for being one of the teams that are hard to beat. To maintain and enhance this reputation we are actively seeking new anglers to come and fish with us. A winter series of matches is being run by the secretary Ian Bateson. Teams from the North West are invited to take part. They are very informal and a great way for those interested in the coarse match fishing to come along and have a do, no matter what their level of expertise is. The first match this season is being held at Wrightington Fishery, Wrightington, near Wigan on Thursday 6 November 2008 and the draw is at 9 am.
