Abbey Police Insurance

About the Scheme

Abbey Insurance Group

Five years ago the Police club in Northern Ireland launched an insurance scheme for the benefit of the Police and Staff in Northern Ireland. It has been very successful and as a result other forces in the UK have joined the scheme. There are currently 10 Forces in the scheme in the UK with another 4 hoping to join this year. The scheme adopts the name of the Police area covered i.e.: Abbey South Yorkshire or Abbey West Midland. Lancashire Police Sports Club became our latest member on the 30-June-2008. Abbey Lancashire.

Who can use the scheme?

All serving and retired Police officers as well as Police Staff. The scheme is also open to all family members of Police and staff personnel.

What do we cover?

The scheme offers cover for vehicles, Buildings and Contents as well as travel insurance. The vehicle insurance covers up to group 20 vehicles and are fully comprehensive with bonus protection. We do not cover Male drivers under 20 years and Female drivers under 18 years.

How secure are your details?

The scheme is based in the Police Club premises in Belfast. The complex has 24 hour security. Your details are held on a secure database and all employees are security vetted. We do not share your details with anyone else so you will not receive a sack full of junk mail and unsolicited offers from anyone else. All you receive is a very competitive quote for insurance.

How do I contact Abbey Lancashire?

David Wilton and Andy Russell are retired Police Officers having served in the Royal Ulster Constabulary and the Police Service of Northern Ireland. They are currently working for the RUC Athletic Association Police Club in Belfast known as Newforge Country Club.

David and Andy will be visiting your Station or office in the near future to explain how the scheme operates in your area. They can take your details for insurance quotes for the future to save you the trouble of trying to remember important dates. A member of the team will then call you free approx 3 to 4 weeks before your renewal date and give you a quote there and then. There is also a free phone number for you and your family members to call for an instant quote. Tele: 0800-7833211.

What are the benefits?

It is very simple. You get excellent quality insurance cover and will be pleased at the savings to you and your family. Your Police club also receives a small percentage return from the scheme to help improve your member benefits so everyone is a winner.
