Introduction
The Lancashire Constabulary Caravan & Camping Section (LCCCS) was formed in 1990 in Southern Division as a part of the Divisional Sports & Social Club.
The first objective was to obtain a Certificate of Exemption from the Department of the Environment (now the Department for Environment, Transport and the Regions) under the Caravan Sites and Control of Development Act 1960.
‘Exempted Organisation’ status was obtained in September 1990 and has successfully been renewed every five years since that date.
The object of the Section is to further and promote the interests of members in caravanning and camping, to hold a number of rallies or meets and to maintain a high standard of conduct by observing the Caravan Code and the Country Code.
In 1992 the Section joined the Association of Caravan & Camping Exempted Organisations (ACCEO), a National ‘umbrella’ organisation representing the interests of independent caravanning and camping clubs.
Membership of ACCEO, the third largest caravan & camping organisation in the United Kingdom, brings certain benefits to members, some of these are:
Discounts on Ferry Crossings
Special Rates on Caravan Insurance
ACCEO Personal Membership
National Rallies for ACCEO Member Clubs
Newsletters
Although Full Membership of the Section is available to members of Southern Division Sports & Social Club, Associate Membership is available to any member of the Lancashire Constabulary on payment of the applicable membership fee. Pensioned members of the Constabulary can be Honorary Members. Guests can be invited too.
A full copy of the Rules and membership subscriptions can be obtained from the Section Secretary.
