County Sports Club Feature Lancashire Constabulary Sports & Social Club Consultation on Proposals for Merge and Modernisation The structure of the Constabulary’s Sports & Social Club involving the County Club and seven Divisional & HQ Clubs has remained unchanged since its formulation in 1952. The County Clubs’ Management Committee has recently considered how a more cost-effective structure could be achieved that better meets the requirements of members in a more consistent way. The result of these deliberations over the last few months is a draft proposal to move away from the present arrangement and create one Club. The Chair of the County Club, Mr David Brindle has already written to all the Chairs of the Divisional & HQ Clubs to ask them, in consultation with their members, their views, on the proposals which have been outlined in a “Club Merger and Modernisation” document. Mr Brindle said “the proposals clearly identify a wide range of benefits and improvements that could be achieved by having a more cost-effective and streamlined structure. However, we would very much like to hear what everyone thinks before any decisions are taken”. A copy of the proposals “Club Merger and Modernisation” can be seen on the Sports and Social Club Intranet and Internet sites. If you do have any views, either for or against, can you direct them through your Club Chairperson. Feedback from all the Divisional Chairs has been requested by Friday, 16 February. The County Club Management Committee will then consider the response at their meeting in the following week. View copy of proposal MS Word Document
