British Team Golf Championships

On Thursday 3 October 2007 Lancashire Constabulary competed in the finals of the British Team Golf Championships in Edinburgh after beating Warwickshire, Cheshire and Norfolk in previous rounds.

In the semi final they beat West Yorkshire 3 - 2.  In the final they beat Gloucester 3 1/2 - 1 1/2.

Winners: Lancashire Constabulary

The above event will take place at Moray Golf Club, Lossiemouth Scotland on Thursday 30 and Friday 31 august 2007. Any member of the Club interested in participating in these championships should contact DC Ian Hill by email.

Top Golfer Gets Top Title

DC Ian Hill from Northern Division, winner of the 2004 Police Sport UK Golf national championships, has been recently appointed as the Police Sport UK national Golf Secretary.

His work will involve coordinating a number of golf championships throughout the year as well running the national team. He will also have responsibility for the sectional accounts and other secretarial business. Says Ian: “I was very pleased to be appointed this post and hope drive forward police golf in the coming years. Hopefully it won’t detract me too much from playing golf.”
