2006 Club Pocket Diaries

 

The club diaries will be distributed around the force on Wednesday 21 December 2005. Divisional allocations will be sent to post rooms around the force.

 

This year the number of copies printed has been limited so the dairies are only available to Club members.

The PSUK National Swimming Championships

 

The above event will take place in Cardiff over the weekend of 8 and 9 April 2006.  All police officers, police staff and retired individuals, who are members of the sports and social are available for consideration to represent the Lancashire Constabulary.

 

Anyone who wishes to be considered for the championships should contact Inspector Karen Simister at Preston police station, via email or on extension 209022.

 

ACPO National Lifesaving Championships

 

The above event is due to take place in London during the weekend of 2 - 4 June 2006.  Any Police Officer and Special Constable can be considered for selection to represent the Lancashire Constabulary. 

 

Unfortunately police staff and retired officers are not eligible to enter.  This is being reviewed and progress is being made. However, Special Constables are now eligible to enter as from this year.

 

Therefore, any Police Officer or member of the Special Constabulary who wishes to be considered for the Lancashire Constabulary team, to contact Inspector Karen Simister via email or on extension 209022.

PSUK Regional Basketball Championships 2006

 

Lancashire Constabulary has been recently chosen to host the 2006 PSUK Regional Ladies Basketball Tournament.  This has been provisionally been arranged for the weekend of 4 & 5 February 2006. 

 

Training for the tournament has been arranged for Monday 28 November and Monday 12 December at the sports hall at training school.  It should then continue every other Monday until the tournament.

 

Any female who is a member of the Club can play in the team. Whether you have played before or not you are more than welcome to come and give it a go.

As always, these eight cross-country races are always competitive but at the same time enjoyable and provide the basis of ideal winter training.

 

They comprise six miles for men and four miles for women starting at 2 pm.

 

Four hours 'county sport' is approved for those not on rest day, subject to the final approval of their respective Divisional/Departmental commanders'.

Lancashire Seven-a-side league

 

The summer seven a side league has been running for many years and provided an opportunity for many Police officers and Police staff to enjoy " social football ". Much of the event organisation has been done by Mr David Williams, who oversees the fixtures and results.  Sadly he will be unable to assist next season and we need a volunteer to take his position.

 

Any member of the force interested in volunteering for this position or wishes to know more please contact Insp Mick Laraway (chairman) ext 353644 or by e-mail.

 

The end of season social function will be held at HQ Bar on Thursday 8th December at 7.30pm. It will be the normal format with free refreshments, and raffle with substantial prizes. All registered teams are welcome. There will be a partial refund of subs to those teams who attend, exact amount to be determined.
