The above event took place on the 19 October 2006 in Derbyshire.
The final score being 63-11 to Lancashire.
Lancashire A will now progress into the second round of the Cup.

Lancashire B Team v West Yorkshire Police
On the 15th October 2006 Lancashire Constabulary B team hosted the first round of the PSUK knockout against West Yorkshire Constabulary.
Lancashire fought hard and at the end of full time the score was a draw at 32 all. Extra time was played during which Lancashire were unfortunately defeated by West Yorkshire by one goal, the final score being a close 36-35 win to West Yorkshire.
Lancashire B will now progress to the Plate Competition.

Northern Police Cross Country League
The 2006/2007 season starts on Wednesday 11 October 2006 with the first fixture taking place in Penrith, Cumbria.
As always, these cross-country races are always competitive but at the same time enjoyable and provide the basis of ideal winter training.
They comprise six miles for men and four miles for women starting at 2 pm. In most cases we will meet at Bamber Bridge Police Station where minibus transport will proceed to the venue.
Four hours 'county sport' is approved for those not on rest day, subject to the final approval of their respective Divisional / Departmental commanders.

Information
Lancashire Seven-a-side league
The summer seven-a-side league has been running for many years and provided an opportunity for many police officers and police staff to enjoy " social football ".
Two Cup Finals have arranged to take place at Hutton on Thursday 5 October 2006 starting at 6pm. (Provisional start time)
The end of season social function will be held following these matches in the HQ Bar starting at 7.30pm. It will be the normal format with free refreshments, and raffle with substantial prizes. All registered teams are welcome and the League is always keen to recruit new members.

Result
Police Sport UK Cricket Quarter-Final
On Monday 31 July 2006 Dyfed-Powys Police were due to play Lancashire Constabulary at Ammanford Cricket Club, Swansea, in the quarter-final of the 2006 PSUK Cricket Trophy. However, persistent heavy rain resulted in the abandonment of the fixture, and in a 'bowl out' to determine the winners, Lancashire lost 2 - 1.

The above event will take place on Wednesday 12 July 2006 at Lancaster starting at 7.15pm. The race starts from Morecambe Road, Lancaster. This is a mildly undulating 6.2 mile course around the Lancaster and Morecambe area.
Prizes are awarded to 1st, 2md and 3rd placed individuals in the male, female and veteran male and female categories. Inter-Divisional team prizes are also awarded. (Four to count)
This event is incorporated within the annual Lancaster and Morecambe AC 10k race. Any standard of runner may take part in this event

The above event will take place on Wednesday 12 July 2006 at Lancaster starting at 7.15pm. The race starts from Morecambe Road, Lancaster. This is a mildly undulating 6.2 mile course around the Lancaster and Morecambe area.
Prizes are awarded to 1st, 2md and 3rd placed individuals in the male, female and veteran male and female categories. Inter-Divisional team prizes are also awarded. (Four to count)
This event is incorporated within the annual Lancaster and Morecambe AC 10k race. Any standard of runner may take part in this event

Police Sport UK -Football - National Veterans Cup 2005/2006
Winners Lancashire Constabulary
On the evening of Friday 5 may 2006 the Lancashire Constabulary Veterans Football team played in the final of this year's competition, at Port Vale F.C. Their opponents were the Metropolitan Police and the game ended 1-1 after extra time.
There followed a penalty shoot-out that resulted in a win by Lancashire, 3-1.
Scorers were:

Penalties Ch Insp Andy Murphy, PC Shaun Juriansz and Insp Steve Anderton.
This is the sixth time in seven seasons that the force team have been champions in this competition.

Sporting Super Cop 2006
This event has been circulated on Weekly Orders previously. At present we have only one male entry and three female entries from the force.
To clarify, the competition is open to police and police staff who are members of the Sports and Social Club. Details as follows:-

Could you be the 'UK Sporting Super Cop' 2006?
The Lancashire Constabulary Sports & Social Club are looking to select one male and one female club member, police or police staff, to compete in the inaugural Police Sport UK 'Sporting Super Cop' event to be held on 3 and 4 May 2006.
The event will test the sporting skills and abilities in a variety of disciplines. Some compulsory and some of choice. Points will be scored in each event to eventually determine the male and female UK 'Sporting Super Cop'.
It is hoped that nearly every police force in the UK will put forward their pre-selected entries to take part in this two-day event in May. The two selected individuals from the Lancashire force will be given support and funding for travel, meals and accommodation.

The Lancashire 7 a Side Summer league will commence at the beginning May. Again all the fixtures will be held at HQ Hutton.
If you wish to enter a team you must attend the Annual General Meeting in order to register. This meeting will be held in Headquarters Bar at 7pm, Tuesday 4th April 2006. Each team is entered at a cost of £80.00 that covers the whole season, and must be paid in full on the registration night, by cash or cheque. You may register any amount of players, but they must be employees of the Constabulary.

Sporting Super Cop 2006
Are you Super Fit? Or could you be by May?
Could you be the 'UK Sporting Super Cop' 2006?
The Lancashire Constabulary Sports & Social Club are looking to select one male and one female club member to compete in the inaugural Police Sport UK 'Sporting Super Cop' event to be held on 3 and 4 May 2006.
The event will test the sporting skills and abilities in a variety of disciplines. Some compulsory and some of choice. Points will be scored in each event to eventually determine the male and female UK 'Sporting Super Cop'.
It is hoped that nearly every police force in the UK will put forward their pre-selected entries to take part in this two day event in May. The two selected individuals from the Lancashire force will be given support and funding for travel, meals and accommodation.
Briefly, the competition disciplines will be as follows:

The assessment will take around two hours depending on numbers entering. The male and female competitor scoring the highest points will be selected to compete in the 'Sporting Super Cop' event held in May. The male and female 'runner-up' will be given a reserve place.

Sports Personality Award 2005
Nominations are invited for the above award that has been presented annually since 1964.
The award is intended to recognise a member of the Sports & Social Club, police or support staff who has achieved a particular outstanding sporting performance or performances when playing for Club. This may be during the previous 12 months or over a number of years.
It also includes anyone who has given a high degree of dedication, time and commitment to police sport over a number of years.
It must be stressed that this is a Club award and it is intended to recognise achievements in primarily police sport activities. Also, nominees must be members or honorary members of the Club.
Activities engaged outside police club activities can be added to support the overall nomination.
To assist with your nomination, the report should include all or some of the following information:
A summary of activity and achievements listed in chronological order up to present day.
These should primarily be police sports events followed by non-police sport events.
Detail of any prestigious sporting achievements - 'the high-point' of the persons sporting career'.
Any noteworthy sports stories or significant events.
How the member has supported the Club in an organisational or supportive manner over the years.
Details of other club members who support the nomination and their views.
It may be appropriate to actually contact the person you are nominating to expand on more detail and information in support of your report.
Finally, it is acceptable in certain circumstances for an individual to nominate his or herself.

Inter-Divisional Cross Country Championships Witton Park
The above event will take place at Witton Park, Blackburn on Wednesday 22 February 2006 starting at 2 pm.
The undulating course will by across parkland and through woodland. Approximate distances are 5.5 miles for the men and 3.5 miles for the women.
Changing and shower facilities will be at the pavilion.
A hot meal will be provided in the pavilion cafι after the race followed by a presentation of a variety of divisional awards and prizes for different age groups.

BBC Big Challenge Health Works Awards
In October 2005 the BBC set a national challenge to find the healthiest employer and workforce in the UK.
The Lancashire Constabulary was nominated for this award. The nomination was based on a variety of recent and long-term force wide health initiatives coupled with the successes of its long established Sports and Social Club.
The nomination was made on behalf of all members of the constabulary who are engaged in the organisation of health initiatives or sport and social activities across the force.
The Lancashire Constabulary were pleased to be commended in the Healthiest Large Employer Category in the BBC Radio Lancashire area. A formal presentation of the award was made on Radio Lancashire on the 30 January 2006.

PSUK National Offshore Sailing Championships
The above event will take place from 22nd to 26th May,2006, with a series of offshore races in the Solent area and English Channel.
There will be a training / race preparation weekend on 18th, 19th, March 2006, also in the Solent area. Crew/ team places are available to Police Officers, Support Staff and retired Officers who are members of the Sports and Social Club, and have suitable sailing experience.
