Social Secretary - Inspector Dave Gardner Retires

In September 2004, Inspector Dave Gardner retired from the force after 30 years service in Northern Division.

Dave became assistant secretary of the Northern Division Sports & Social Club some 15 years ago working alongside Inspector Graham Richardson. When Graham retired some eight years ago Dave took over the full secretary role until his retirement in September.

Dave has been a very dedicated secretary and a major asset to the running of the Northern Division Club. Much of the work has been done in his own time without accepting any honorarium payment for his services.

The committee decided that his time and dedication to the club over the past 15 years should be recognised and they decided to present him with a digital camera to mark the occasion. A formal presentation was held with the Club chairman, Divisional Commander Chief Superintendent Wendy Walker and other committee members in November.
