Internet Cyber-point at Lancaster, Morecambe and Carnforth
An internet computer facility, the first of its kind, has been installed at Lancaster, Morecambe and Carnforth police stations to allow members to surf the internet 24 hours a day.
Members can now log-in using a password system that will enable free access to the internet and a number of other computer programs such as Auto Route and Word.
The idea was put forward by PC Steve Broadbent who will administer the system on a week by week basis. To date the facility has over 300 registered users.
This idea is one that could be adopted by Divisional Clubs County wide as it is proving to be a relatively inexpensive facility that can be used by the less 'sports minded' members of the Club.
A fourth internet facility has been considered for Fleetwood police station subject to demand and AGM approval.
