Social Trip To Joe Pasquale's "The Price is Right"

In July 2006 members of Northern Division took a trip to the "Price is Right" filmed at Granada Studios in Manchester. The first visit was on Sunday 2 July when around 30 members of the division attended but the filming was called off due to the studio being flooded following a heavy thunder storm.

Not to be deterred, the group organised two further visits in the weeks following.

On Friday 7 July the first group of 12 members attended and this time the show went ahead.

In the second half of the one hour show Lancaster's PC Jon Stephenson was called to 'Come on down'!

This is how he did................

PC Jon Stephenson Wins a Vacuum Cleaner

Jon (with the help of his buddies in the audience) guessed the nearest price of this £249 vacuum cleaner (without going over)

Jon then had the task of guessing the two halves of the price of a 600cc sports bike. Again, with the help of friends and family he had five attempts at guessing the two halves of the price of a sports bike. His first attempt 75 was incorrect. His second attempt 67 was correct. Jon then went for 95 as the second two digits of the total price. £6795 - The Price Was Right!

£6795 guessed correctly on his 3rd of 4 possible guesses!!

Jon goes for the Showcase Showdown

Jon spun the wheel hoping to get the nearest to 100 (without going over) He scored 55 on his first spin so he had to go for a second attempt. However, he scored 90 on his second spin and his opponents beat is score.

Not a bad nights work!

Jon celebrates winning his £6800 sports bike with his wife Louise outside Granada studio.

A third visit to The Price is Right went ahead a week later.
