Pennine Division Club
Introduction
The purpose of this organisation is to foster camaraderie amongst colleagues and to provide finance for the sort of things that encourage such relationships.
The organisation has been in place since time immemorial and 95% of the current workforce are members.

Summary of Activities
The type of benefits that the Welfare, Sports and Social provide are: -
Provision of Christmas Gifts for Police Widows living in Division
Provision of sickness gifts for those unfit for work
Provision of bereavement gifts for immediate family
Provision of other welfare gifts where appropriate
Provision of retirement gifts
Provision of Christmas Gifts for the children of members
Provision of televisions and radios in the stations
Provision of snooker tables
Subsidising sporting activity
Provision of station gymnasiums / weight rooms
Provision of gaming machines
Subsidising Social events such as scale / departmental trips and functions
Assisting any worthy cause
Crow Wood Leisure Centre
Pennine Sports and Social have agreed in principle a block membership joining fee deal with Crow Wood Leisure Centre (off the M65 at Burnley). Monthly subscriptions to Crow Wood are unaffected, however, Sports and Social Members and partners can benefit from a reduced joining fee. Joining through the block booking will cost £25:00 which is a minimum of £50:00 cheaper than normal joining costs, (Currently £75, £150 at the end of current promotion).
Those interested in joining through the block booking MUST register with Stan Heaton on 472503, via e-mail or by post to Burnley CJS Department. Stan will be unable to deal with any replies until 04/04/2002.

County Sports Club
Members are automatically affiliated to the County Club that offers as many as 24 sports activities. Players compete at a slightly higher level than divisional sport.
The respective secretaries are always looking for keen, new players, irrespective of standard.
