Rowing Sports Section Activities & Features Here is a list of all the activities and fixtures arranged and attended by members of the Section in recent years. There are links to a further page or pages detailing information on the event both past and present. Since its establishment by Insp Wayne Howard, the rowing section has regularly entered competitors in the British Indoor Rowing Championships at Birmingham and the North of England Indoor Rowing Championships at Manchester. Five members competed in the World Police and Fire Games in Barcelona in 2003, all winning medals in various age groups and races. (See report on the Games) This section hopes to encourage further competition in the Indoor events and Grand Prix events in 2005. Some members are also entering the World Police and Fire Games in Quebec. But the section also hopes to cater for those people who wish to try Indoor or Outdoor rowing for fitness or for a new sporting experience. Annual Fixtures Grand Prix events organised by Concept2 Oct-Feb 2005/2006, competitors need to compete in 4/6 events to qualify for points and overall medals.
