Shooting Sports Section Introduction The Lancashire Constabulary Target Shooting Section was formed in 1968. Over the years it has seen many changes, enforced through legislation or otherwise. However, it still remains a very active section even if left in the shadows of the more cardiovascular sports. This sport is one of a very few that age, gender, physical capabilities does not matter. We all compete on virtually the same level. The section comprises: Small-bore rifle - up to .22 calibre Full-bore rifle - 7.62 calibre Air-weapons - .177 calibre During the summer the small-bore compete at 50 yards, 50 metres or 100 metres. During the winter they shoot indoors at 25 yards. Full-bore will shoot outdoors at 300, 500, 600, 900 or 1000 yards. Air-weapon shoot indoors at 10 metres. We are always looking for new members of all skills and abilities. Secretary Contact: Inspector David Hodson
