Western Division Club Facilities and Activities Inter-Divisional 10 K Road Race Each year, the County Sports Club organise a 10 Kilometre road race. The race entry is open to members of divisional clubs who compete on behalf of their respective division. The race usually attracts around 60 to 70 runners - 10 male and female runners from each division. This 6.2 mile race is usually held over a relatively flat course somewhere in the Lancashire area. The race venue in recent years has been in Lancaster, being incorporated within the annual Lancaster and Morecambe Athletic Club race held in July. Other years, the race has taken place from Witton Park and Hutton Hall. Trophies and prizes are awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd places runners in a variety of different categories including teams - usually three or four to count. Medals are often given to all competitors who finish. The Inter-Divisional Challenge Trophy is awarded to the division with the fastest four runners. Northern Division have dominated the trophy for many years with Pennine and Central divisions taking control from time to time. This is both a competitive and fun event and as always, we always aim to encourage all standards of runner. As the old saying goes, "it is the taking part, not the winning that counts"! The £5.00 entry fee is paid by your divisional Club and details of the time, date and venue are sent out six to eight weeks before. Members who have competed in this race in the last three years will be automatically contacted by e-mail. Your divisional Athletics and Running representative is: E-Mail: PC Darren Hale
