Report
The 2014 event was hosted by North
Wales Police on Wednesday 14 May 2014 starting at 1pm. The route was about
8.5
miles with over 1000 metres of ascent. The main summit was Foel Fras with the
start at Abergwyngregyn (just off the A55 8 miles before Bangor)
This year the entries were significantly low
with 32 initial entries and only 22 running on the day. This may have been
due to location in west Wales. Also, there was a serious accident on the M6
that morning resulting in some no shows who may have decided to abort their
journey.
Nevertheless, those who attended experienced
a tremendous day of fell running. Fine, sunny weather added to the delight
of running an interesting course with a good mixture of fell running
terrain.
Ian Phillips (Derbyshire) retained the
men's champion title for a 2nd year. Christine Howard (Derbyshire)
winning the ladies title. Derbyshire won the mixed team prize with hosts
North Wales a close 2nd.

Owens and their marshal team for hosting an excellent 2014
Championships.
Derbyshire have mooted that they will
host the 2015 event next May at a venue to be decided. This will provide us
with a fairly central location and hopefully attract more runners next time.
