A big thank you to Tony Oliver and his Cleveland team for hosting a fabulous fixture at Summerhill Park, Hartlepool yesterday. I think the 25 runners who took part all enjoyed the testing, three-lap, 5-mile course. Thank
you to all the marshals for a well-marked course, Rachel Darling Love
for some great photos and to Lancashire Fusileers, Phil Corris and Mark
Mulryan for time-keeping. Great facilities and post-race hospitality rounded off the day nicely.

Fixture 2 - 17
October 2025 - North Wales
Well done to everyone who attended the 2nd Fixture of the Season at Colwyn Bay Police HQ yesterday. A big thank you to Nick Jones, Claire Foreman, Craig Jones and their team of marshals and helpers for staging a fantastic race. The
4-lap, 4.5 mile course provided some very testing running. The twist
and turns through woodland, and a few hills thrown in provided us with
some really interesting terrain. We had 43 runners taking part, with North Wales also staging their Force XC Championships within the race. Very
nice facilities and hospitality was provided. Post-race tea, coffee
cakes and scones as well as a souvenir bottle of Wrexham Beer to take
home, made for an excellent afternoon! We
hope many North Wales runners will consider entering our following
League fixtures. The next being just over the border in Spud Wood,
Cheshire on 29 October. Details out soon.

Fixture 3 – 29 October 2025 - Cheshire
NPCCL Fixture #3 - Spud Wood, Cheshire
Congratulations to Jack Pilkington and
his team from Cheshire for hosting another fabulous fixture at Spud
Wood. The six-mile course provided everyone with a challenging
three-lap course with lots of interesting twists and turns.
There were over 30 runners taking part. Well done to Rob Grantham and Natalie Iddon, first male and female home. Both ran a fantastic race. A
special mention goes to Edward Balfour, making his debut appearance
maybe the youngest NPCCL entry at 15 years. Well done to Edward, 58
minutes, great running!
The
Lancashire Team got snarled up in a serious accident traffic-queue on
the M6 for nearly two hours! However, the team of six were able to
start at 2.15. Their results have been recorded and incorporated within
the main race results.
Thanks also to the course marshals for stopping back to guide the late runners.
Great hospitality was provided at the Barn Owl after the race. There was even some food saved for Team Lancon! Finally Laura Lawler picks up first prize for best Halloween Fancy Dress! Well done Laura!

Fixture #7- Rivington - Lancashire - 1.30 pm, Monday 29 December 2025
Thank
you to everyone who attended and supported our new 'Christmas Bonus
Fixture' at Rivington Woods on Monday, hosted by Lancashire. I think everyone enjoyed the course which was relatively flat, but a tad longer than usual. Over 6.5 miles.  Nevertheless, a good way to burn off even more Christmas calories!  Robert Sparkes (Humberside) had a phenomenal run winning the race and receiving a spot prize. David
Wilson (West Midlands) was our only Midlands League entry, but cruised
in behind Rob in 2nd. Dave won a spot prize for travelling the furthest
today! We had Guest runners from Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde AC with Sofia Leonard first lady. Our
2nd lady was Louise Ambler, from the Prison Service, our first entrant
into the League from this Service which is fantastic! Louise also won a
Spot Prize for 1st League lady. Some
of our runners entered into the spirit of Christmas and wore festive
dress. Carol and Dave Wilkinson from Lancashire won a joint 'festive
dress' Spot Prize. The
post-race hot (alcofree) mulled wine seemed to go down well, utilising
a new 5K hot drinks despenser recently purchased for the League. This
will be used at future fixtures for brewing hot drinks. Thank
you to Dave Wood (GMP) for time-keeping. Jim O'Donnell for marshalling.
Dave Watkinson also provided three more marshals from his walking Club
who helped keep the course in check, as some flags did go missing in
one section of the course! Delicious hot soup and a roll in the cafe wrapped up what I hope was a fabulous festive afternoon for everyone. Here are the results and a few pictures...
