Kenworthy Woods, Greater Manchester
Greater Manchester Police is proud to be hosting the 2026 PSUK cross country championships this season.
We
are very grateful to the team at Wythenshawe Sports Ground, and
Manchester University for permitting us the use of this fantastic
facility and access to Kenworthy Woods.
Race
HQ will be Wythenshawe Sports Ground, Willenhall Road, Manchester, M23
0BD, and is easily navigating to via W3W: ///fines.card.wisdom
There
is ample parking available but please carpool if you can, as there will
be a University Football game running too. To support your arrival and
registration the car park will be marshalled and signposted.
There are toilets and changing facilities available within the pavilion building.
Registration
will open at 1030hrs, can Force Leads / Team Captains collect all bibs
for your Forces to assist with queue management, thank you.
We are using My Race Results as our entry system and will be supported on the day by GB Ultras Ltd on the day with chip timing –
On confirmation of your race entry you will receive an email with a link to the evening function entry - £42
There is an unlimited number of places for the race but there are only 220 places for the evening function.
The ladies’ 8km race will be at 1.00pm
The men’s 10km race will be at 2.00pm
The start and finish is in front of the pavilion and a short walk from the car park.
There
will be an army of volunteers out along the course as well as our Force
Photographer so please be sure to have your running smile ready.
This will be held at our Sports and Social HQ, Hough End Complex, Mauldeth Road, Chorlton, M21 7SX
Arrive from 1800hrs for a 1845hrs start.
Our
Disco Themed event will comprise of an arrival drink, scrumptious
pre-dinner snacks, the awards presentation, a “hot fork” buffet and
live entertainment.
We
will have our Force Band playing throughout the evening and then The
Mamma Mia’s will transport you back to the 70’s. You will not be
disappointed! I might even have a prize for best costume………..
We
will be running a charity raffle on the evening so please come armed
with some cash – all proceeds will be going to Care of Police
Survivors, COPS

There
are quite a few hotel options available close to Manchester Airport,
which would have you taking a 15minute taxi journey to/from the evening
function. the benefit of these being that they are close to Race HQ too
