Atherstone - Warwickshire - Monday 18 May 2009

You are invited to take part in the Police Sport UK Orienteering Championships in Bentley Woods, near Atherstone, Warwickshire on Monday 18 May 2009. The competition is organised by the Police Sport UK Orienteering Club assisted by members of the Warwickshire and Coventry Orienteering Club, Octavian Droobers.

Courses

A veteran is aged 40 years or over on 1^st January 2009.

The Novice course follows paths and other simple map features and is aimed to give a reasonably fit person a run of 40 to 60 minutes. Novices from the same Force may compete competitively in pairs on this course.

Terrain

Bentley Woods is undulating woodland, hilly in places with a steep valley running through parts of it. The woodland is very runnable and the there is a good path network.

Trophies

These will be awarded to the winners of all courses and down to third place depending on entries. On the Novice course there will trophies for both men and women.

Entries Close: Thursday 7 May 2009. Late entries at organiser’s discretion.

There is also an orienteering event in Bentley Woods on Sunday 17 May 2009. If you take part in this you cannot run in the event on the Monday.
